Top Gearhas been on a very bumpy ride over the last couple of years.

First the original trio left after the BBC decided not to renew Jeremy Clarkson's contract back in 2015. Then new host Chris Evans stepped down after only one season. And now -- almost two years after the trouble began with Clarkson's infamous "fracas" -- the series has been revamped.

Sunday's episode was the first with a new core trio: Chris Harris, Rory Reid, and Matt LeBlanc.

Given the largely negative reception the last season received, Sunday's episode was greeted with a fair bit of skepticism.

Soon, though, things were looking promising.

As the episode ended, people took to Twitter to share their thoughts -- and, for the most part, they seemed to like it.

Unsurprisingly, there weresome dissenting voices.

But overall, the reaction seemed positive.

We'll have to wait for rest of the season -- and the ratings -- to see whether or not the new Top Gearis a success.

But judging by the early reactions, things are looking promising.
