Incredible photo of mice battling on a London Tube platform takes top prize
Two mice fighting over a crumb on a Tube platform in London has taken the popular vote in this year's Wildlife Photography Awards.
The official winners were decided in December, but this incredible image taken by UK photographer Sam Rowley beat the finalists to claim the People's Choice Award.
According to the BBC, 28,000 people voted for Rowley's Station Squabblein the "best of the rest" category. The news outlet said Rowley, who works for the BBC's natural history film-making unit as a researcher, spent a few nights belly-down at a central London Tube station in order to get the shot.
Back in December, the 25 image-strong shortlist for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year LUMIX People's Choice Awards was released. The collection is striking, to say the least.
